L water as the War office, but I would point out that the very low price of 10 cents per 1000 gallons, conceded to the Military Authorities on the surrender of a reservoir in the Garden Road Nullah, and of the Military Reserve on the gathering-ground of the same, was a discount of the cost of the Water Works.
The Admiralty have surrendered nothing, nor contributed anything to the cost of the Water Works. 13th September 1890.
4: With regard to the sections of the Ordinance to which Commodore Church takes exception in his letter of the 8th instant, I enclose copy of a minute by the Resident Engineer, in which Mr Cooper expresses his opinion that he does not anticipate that the provisions in question, when the question of payment for water has once been settled, will
